Eleven Sponsored Capstone Projects Presented at David Eccles School of Business
Salt Lake City, UT, July 14, 2016 Thirty-five University of Utah MSIS (Masters of Science, Information Systems) students presented the results of their hard work on eleven sponsored capstone projects. Projects ranged from mobile application development to business intelligence and data analytics. Sponsoring organizations included Extra Space Storage, CAL Ranch Stores, US Ski & Snowboard Association and US Speedskating.
Dave Norwood, who runs the sponsored capstone program as the Technologist in Residence, stated “I’m proud to see how successful our students have been on these real-world projects. Our students have gained extensive hands-on experience and our sponsors have got important projects, that affect their organizations in real ways, completed by very competent MSIS students.” Mr. Norwood uses his experience and connections from running Trusted Network Solutions to enhance the program.
As the final step in the sponsored capstone project process, the students present the results of their project to fellow students, sponsors, faculty and industry experts. The project results are subject to peer review and allow students to highlight their successes and lessons learned. These presentations were made on July 14th and 15th at the David Eccles School of Business.
