Dirty Dashing for Charity
Salt Lake City, Utah, September 17, 2012 – Trusted Network Solutions, a leading Value Added Reseller, announced today that they had participated in the 2013 Dirty Dash, a 10K event created to generate support for local charities. The TNS staff, joined by thousands of others, donated their time, resources and shoes to the event, and completed the ten kilometer run through trenches of mud and extreme obstacles. The Dirty Dash is a “mud run” obstacle course where “military boot camp meets your inner-5-year-old’s fantasy” of trudging through mud and overcoming challenging obstructions.
“Our staff enjoyed the combination of charity and fun so much last year, that we chose to participate in the Dirty Dash again this year. Being able to donate our shoes and funds towards a local cause that we feel strongly about was the perfect way to give back to our community,” said Russell Lindsay, VP of Engineering at Trusted Network Solutions. “Those who had done it before and new comers this year had a blast, I’m sure we will be back next year to play and give back to our community.”
The Dirty Dash uses the proceeds from onsite donations as well as event entry fees to help many worthwhile causes across the nation, choosing local charities in each state; this year’s local charity was The Utah Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, dedicated to combating breast cancer on every front. Up to 75 percent of the Affiliate’s net income goes toward funding grants to local hospitals, clinics and community organizations that provide breast health education as well as breast cancer screening and treatment programs for medically underserved women. EcoKicks, a global textile trading company, also collected muddy shoes which will be used to help less fortunate in the US and in developing countries.
